Uhuru Garden and Minipark

Competition entry for a garden and training center in Watts, Los Angeles. The amphitheater is used as a sundial, and a teaching allotment garden is provided to the patients of the Watts Health Foundation enrolled in a rehabilitation program. The design also provides examples of the use of trees connected to the origins of the residents and the traditions of Southern California. Today the entire area is converted to community garden lots.
